As I mentioned in my Houzz home tour, the one problem with this apartment is that it doesn’t have enough walls! I’ve run out of room for all of the gorgeous art that I seem to keep finding, so I’ve had to resort to switching things out. On my vanity where I used to have my Girl With a Pearl Earring print, I decided to place my new New York City print from Note to Self print shop. I really love the chic simplicity of this black and white typography. The placement of the letters is just so cool – Sarah is a graphic design genius! I’m also kind of obsessed with this one in her shop:
How cute is that? There’s something about that color combo that looks so fresh to me…does it look Parisian to you guys? I don’t know, I just love it. I don’t actually think I’m going to get it, just because I have absolutely no red in this apartment (aside from books), and not much blue either, so I feel like it might look out of place. Maybe in the bathroom though…
Working on this post made me realize that I seem to have built up quite the little collection of New York City-centric art:
I definitely don’t particularly look for art that focuses on NYC, but I guess that’s what happens when you buy things that you love and that catch your eye…patterns emerge! And clearly, I have a bit of an obsession with this city.
Haha, I see the "NYC Girl" as an "AMERICA!" one with the red, white, + blue, but can see what you mean with it being a little Parisian…perhaps it's the lettering? And I think putting it in the bathroom is a good idea. It didn't even occur to me for the longest time to do that, and I'm already planning to when I move!
I have the opposite problem! Too much wall and practically zero wall art right now. Thanks for introducing me to Society 6 though! I've been looking for a place to buy some pieces!
I am so obsessed with prints similar to the ones that you have! I would love to do a wall of them in my office, but I have the hardest time deciding which ones I like. Until then, I will just have to live vicariously through your collection 🙂
I have said it before and I'll say it again… I love love love your blog! The presentation is flawless! Also, thanks to today's post I just ordered my first print from Note to Self print shop. Thank you for always making your posts so interesting and fun to read 🙂
Love your NYC art collection – especially the Washington Square Park print! I'm currently a student at NYU, so I've been on my own little hunt for something similar. Where did you find yours?
