A Gallery Grid + Two Framing Tips

Today I wanted to share with you all a never-before-seen little wall of art that I created in my bathroom. Why, in all of my home tours, has it never been seen? Because there’s no natural light in my bathroom, rendering it impossible to get a decent picture. But I like my little art wall so I wanted to post it anyway, poor lighting be damned! I also wanted to share it because this because it exemplifies two useful framing tips, which are below.

Tip #1: Can you guess what these pictures are? They’re actually little Kate Spade postcards! So my first tip is to frame unconventional items. You can frame anything you like, whether it’s a print or not. An adorable greeting card, a cute postcard, a swatch of fabric…use your imagination! You know how Kate Spade planners have those really pretty pages inside with cool quotes and such? Frame those!

Tip #2: I got these frames at Pottery Barn Kids, so my second tip is to check kids stores for frames. These are pretty much the same as what you can get at the regular Pottery Barn, but since it was the kids store, they were cheaper! So before you buy frames at a regular store, see if they have any in the children’s version of the store…you might be pleasantly surprised! I bought these years ago, but as far as I can tell, these are about the same.

I like this little grid because it adds some color to my neutral bathroom (which is purely gray and white, in stark contrast to the rest of my color-filled apartment!). It’s like a pleasant little surprise when you close the door!
